Severus thought his ears might bleed he'd had his fingers shoved in them for so long now.  He hated hols, hated. He would have elected to stay at Hogwarts, had even begged for the first couple of years, but his mother said that she missed him and that she at least would like him home for Christmas. He didn't know why, it wasn't like she paid anymore attention to him. She was always running around, cow-tailing to his father's every need. Is your tea warm enough, dear? Would you like me to get your coat for you? Do you know when you'll return tonight - no, I don't mind of course not, I was just wondering so I could set some food out for you, it's nothing.  Severus, what have i told you about leaving your books on the kitchen table!

Finally, he extracted his fingertips from his eardrums.  They were still arguing.

Stupid, worthless-

I didn't mean to burn the ham Tobias, honest. I got, I got carried away with the-

The sodding Christmas tree, I know! Thought I toldjer we weren't getting one this year!

But - Tobias, it's Christmas.

A familiar tapping at his window pulled Severus' attention away from his quarreling parents.  He sat up on his bed and walked over to the dingy, yellowed window, pushing it open enough to let the tawny owl through. Curled underneath its sharp claws rested a tightly rolled bit of parchment.  He gave the owl a treat which he retrieved from his sock drawer and patted it on top of the head.

Dear Severus,

I am going barmy having to listen to my sister prattle on about her new boyfriend all ruddy day.  He's an oaf, I've seen him. He picked Petunia up for a date just the other night.  I don't think I can take much more.  Would you like to escape for a bit? At that place, you know?

Evans.

Severus picked up the quill on top of his dresser and flattened out the parchment.

Lily,

You're timing is impeccable. If I stay here any longer I will be forced to sectumsepra my own ears.  I will be there, I do know where.

Severus

Remus nursed his beer. He'd stood by Sirius and Peter during the obligatory toasting of James and Lily. He'd blushed profusely as Sirius hinted at just how lucky James was in winning Lily. Sirius's comments had been - as was Sirius's way - dangerously close to crossing all lines of decency.

Lily had, however, simply stood by and smiled, her arm wrapped dutifully around James's waist, smile indicating nothing but joy.

It was difficult not to dwell upon the fact that at one time, Remus had thought, that he would be the source of her joy. It was difficult to smile and toast and be merry with the rest of his mates. But he did. Not for James, but for her.

((Hello ^^ I'm new to potter_tag, so I guess I'll start a board with my OC if it's okay ^.^))

Sebestian sat at the painting blocking the way to the Gryffindor common room.
"I hope she gave it to her sister." He sighed. He had given a note to Padma to give to Parvati for her to come with him in private for something that night. He watched his watch strike ten o'clock, still neither Patil in sight.

The pub was crowded as he walked in, people chatting and eating and drinking away in the boisterous manners that was the costum in these types of places. Sighing, Theo walked inside, scanning the room for an empty seat by a table and scanning the personal for someone to take his order.

When his eyes fell on Romilda he couldn't help but smirk and he made sure to find himself a seat where he could see her - watch her - and where she would see him.

Maybe today wouldn't be as boring as he had first thought it would be.

Millicent sat alone in the Slytherin common room reading her potions book. It was a cold, windy and rainy afternoon and she prefered to sit alone and at least try to do some homework.
She looked up as someone entered the common room, marking her place in her book.

Blaise had walked up from the hotel to the lake. He sat down on a blanket, under a large tree. After staring at the ruins of Hogwarts, he took a book out of his pocket and began to read. His apprenticeship would be starting soon and it wouldn't hurt to brush up on his theory...

Charlie was even glad to see the paint on the front door was still peeling. It was strange how he was endeared to even the little things about his home (although he knew that Hermione would probably start nagging about the paint and a myriad of other little jobs after a few days), and he was extremely glad to be home. Three weeks working away in Sweden was just far too long.

Talking via the Floo just wasn't the same and he wouldn't wait to touch her properly again, to hold her, to feel her... even to touch her hair. Alice was growing so much now, too. He hated the idea of missing out on her 'firsts' and other things that children her age did.

Unlocking the door, Charlie stepped in, instinctively wiping his boots on the mat. He dumped his bag on the floor, looking around. "Hermione?" he called, hoping that he wasn't waking anyone up.

Lavender sat in the library, looking at her nails. They had gotten chipped at some point during the day, and she wanted to go back to her room and fix them. But she had to sit here and get this stupid essay done for Professor Flitwick. No one came to the library to work, except the geeks, and they were all over in the geek section. She couldn't work in the common room because there were too many things to distract her. So she was hidden behind a bookshelf, her books and parchment currently discarded as she stared with disdain at her nail.

Seamus Finnigan, Parvati thought, with a fair amount of distaste and disgust. Honestly, the boy was ill-mannered, uncouth and downright unappealing. She honestly didn't know what Lavender could possibly see in him. They'd been whispering at dinner, about Godric knows what, and it had made heat coil in her stomach, indignation rise up in her chest.

Her throat cleared quietly as Lavender finally came up, flouncing into the dorm pretty as ever. Parvati sat on her bed, knees pulled to her chest into her skimpiest, silkiest nightclothes. Her feet were spread out over her Astronomy scroll - what better use did it have, anyways? She was going to marry a rich and handsome man after leaving school, and lvive a fabulous life filled with fabulous things. It hardly mattered that she got bright purple toenail polish on the assignment. Better her star charts then her bedspread, right?

"Hello, Lavie, darling," Parvati greeted breezily, tapping her feet. The polish changed to pink. Hmm...
